Tyrrells Vat 1 Hunter Semillon

A classic Hunter Valley semillon showing a tightly structured palate with considerable length and breadth of citrus fruit flavours. This wine is beginning to display toasty bottle aged complexity. Vat 1 epitomises the benefits of patient bottle ageing that transforms this unoaked wine into a masterpiece. Tyrrell’s Vat 1 was first produced in 1963 from Semillon grapes grown on the sandy dry creek bed of the Short Flat Vineyard across the road from Tyrrell’s historic Pokolbin winery. Regarded as one of the world’s greatest white wines, Vat 1 is quite unique and a true expression of Hunter terrior. According to Jancis Robinson, “Semillon is Australia’s unique gift to the world.”
This classic Hunter Valley Semillon shows a tightly structured palate with considerable length and breadth of citrus fruit flavours.
